About Our Founder

Insightful Travels and Tours was founded in 2012 by artist and educator Scott Raynor. He taught Art, Art History and Design for over 25 years and worked at his travel company as a “side gig”. In 2025 he decided that he wanted to devote himself to his business full time. After leading over 50 trips to Italy, France and the UK, he saw an opportunity to help travelers experience Europe in a fuller and more meaningful way. Highly curated journeys that give the participants the framework to experience the wonders of Europe and the US and enhance their creativity along the way.

Scott has taught courses in Art and Art History, and Creativity at several Universities and around the world. His art has been shown in over 70 national and international exhibitions. When not traveling and sharing his passion for art with others, he resides in High Point with his beautiful wife Julie and their two children.
